About

Hello and Welcome to RC Attitude!

I want to welcome you and thank you for taking an interest in my website.  I hope you find the information provided to be helpful and a resource for you around the RC hobby.  Whether you are interested in RC planes, drones, cars, trucks or boats, I hope RC Attitude is helpful.

A little bit about me...

My name is Jerry Bossard and I love the RC hobby! I started this hobby at the beginning of 2020 and have enjoyed the past several months of learning.

My wife Kelly and I live on a small acreage in Iowa.  We have two horses, three dogs and about ten chickens.  I grew up in NE Iowa and graduated from Simpson College in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics.  Today, I work for a company in Ankeny as a Windows System and Network administrator.  I’ve always been interested computers and I started working on and building computers in my teenage years.  Over time my computer skills have grown into managing servers, data storage, networks and designing system infrastructures.

When I was young I had two RC vehicles; a monster truck and a Caterpiller D9 bulldozer.  The bulldozer was a work horse on the gravel road and in the sandbox. I’m not sure how many pounds of sand or rock I moved but I sure enjoyed every minute of it. As I got older I focused more on computers and did not spend time with RC vehicles.  Now that I am older, I have once again found interest in the RC hobby. This time more focused on airplane and drone models but the surface vehicles are awesome too!

I want to help you!

The RC hobby is great but I’ve come to realize that it can be overwhelming for some people. When I started looking into the hobby I had many questions. How do I get started?  What do I need to start?  Where do I buy?  How much money is this going to cost? Those were a few of the questions I had and I’m sure you’ve had them too.  As a kid usually the “toys” were free… but now I have to pay for any RC vehicles, batteries, remote controllers, etc. I was afraid to make a mistake, spend too much money, not enjoy it and feel guilty about spending the money.

My goal is to help you enjoy the RC hobby, have fun with it, teach other people and learn from my mistakes. I look forward to helping you on your RC hobby journey. It is going to be fun!

Jerry

  1. Really enjoyed your Apprentice STS review. Would like to get the larger wheels you talked about and wondering if you have a link so I can purchase them?
    Thank you,
    Fred
